How many treatments should I have?  How often?

If there is a particular issue you would like to see if reflexology or reiki might help, I strongly recommend that you should initially book weekly treatments for 4 to 6 sessions.  It is usually agreed that if you are to notice a benefit this will give you the best chance of doing so.
It is common for clients to find a great deal of benefit from coming for sessions about every month to help them rest, recharge and rebalance.

I am pregnant – is reflexology safe?

There is nothing to suggest that reflexology is not safe in pregnancy.  However, if you are at all anxious then you may want to avoid having treatments in the first trimester because your anxious state will not be conducive to a relaxed pregnancy.  It is the anxiety, rather than the reflexology, which should be avoided.
Many women find reflexology helps them to cope with some of the unwanted symptoms they experience such as sickness, fatigue and backache and I have undergone advanced reflexology training in working with pregnant clients.

Can reflexology induce labour?

The induction of labour is a medical procedure which reflexology is not.  However, 2 or 3 reflexology treatments at the end of pregnancy can be very helpful in assisting the mother’s body in preparing for birth.  It is more helpful, therefore, to seek reflexology before the baby is overdue if at all possible.

Does reflexology tickle?

No – the pressure I use varies from firm to extremely light depending on which reflexes are being worked but it should never tickle.

Am I supposed to feel anything (during reiki)?

The experience of reiki is very individual and can also vary from one treatment to another.  In my experience people can begin to feel reiki in different ways as they become more used to it.  However, I have also seen that people can appear to benefit greatly from reiki treatments even when they report not feeling any sensation while it is going on.

Why do I need a full consultation?

As a holistic therapist it is helpful to know as much as possible about every client in order to give you the best possible treatment.  It is my wish and intention to empower you to feel as well as you possibly can and all questions are asked with this in mind.  All client information is, of course,  confidential and securely stored.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, I now accept credit or debit cards as well as cash (not cheques).  For telephone or email orders payment is by Paypal or bank transfer.

Do you offer a mobile service?

No, all treatments are given in my home therapy room.  Reiki can be given by distance treatment, please contact me if you are interested in this.

Is your therapy room on the ground floor?

My therapy room is on the first floor and therefore requires clients to be able to negotiate a flight of internal stairs as well as steps up to my front door.

Is there parking available?

Parking is available on the roads around, restricted to the marked bays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and wardens do patrol at times.  You are welcome to park on the drive, please take care as it is quite steep and narrow.

Why can’t I leave a message on your answerphone?

I have turned this function off because of problems with my carrier.  I will see that you have called me and return your call as soon as I can.  In the meantime you can always leave a message by email or text.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 48 hours notice of cancellation unless it arises from unforeseen circumstances.  Clients who cancel bookings without notice or fail to keep appointments will be asked to pay in advance if they wish to re-book.
